Oh it is so frustrating that we don’t live in Hong Kong, and that it is so far away. In Hong Kong, an architectural design firm, called James Cybertecture Firm offers a very interesting program for kids to learn about the built environment and buildings. No, we have not attended the class nor have our kids, but it sounds incredible. The class outline is online and it includes visits and conversations with guest architects, architecture students and hands-on projects.
Kids get lessons on using Sketchup, a free computer-aided design program and also they can learn about drawing. It would be great if this kind of program were offered in cities all over the world and more kids could get such solid background and experience.
M0re information is available through their Cybertecture Academy Facebook page.
