Champaign-Urbana is the home of the University of Illinois. Go visit in the summer and stay to learn about being an architect. Find out what architects do, how they do it, why they do it and act like an architect yourself. Draw for hours, use laser cutting machines, pens, vellum, and a lot of tissue. Create models with cardboard and learn to look at things differently. Just like an architect does in real life.
There are two programs this summer, one is completed and the other is about to start. It is for high school students and we recommend it highly. This program is for high-school aged students.
Also, for someone who might want to apply for next year, they offer scholarships.
